Can teachers see how many questions you answered on IXL? ›

Using the Student Progress report

After selecting a student, the report will display one row for every skill that they've practiced. Skills are organized by subject, grade level, and category. For each skill, you can see how much time the student has spent and how many questions the student has answered.

IXL offers comprehensive coverage of pre-K through 12th grade curriculum, with more than 10,000 skills aligned to the Common Core and all 50 state standards.

Students will need to answer as many as 10 questions correctly in a row to achieve mastery. For most skills on IXL, students will have to complete a minimum of 28 questions to earn a SmartScore of 100. When a student achieves a score of 100 on IXL, you can feel confident that they have truly mastered that skill.

IXL provides thousands of curriculum and instructional resources, actionable analytics, a state‑of‑the‑art assessment suite, and much more. Each component works together seamlessly to help your teachers and students succeed.

IXL has a strong focus on math and language arts, while Khan Academy offers a wider range of subjects. Consider your learning style: If your child is a visual learner, then you may prefer Khan Academy's videos and articles. If your child is an auditory learner, then you may prefer IXL's games and quizzes.

Overall, I think IXL is just a big stress-machine, something that students don't need, especially middle and high school students, where IXL is most used. How long does it take to finish IXL? ›

Have students answer diagnostic questions until all their levels are up to date. It only takes about 45 minutes to get full diagnostic results in one subject.

When students first use the Diagnostic, we recommend they aim to diagnose until their complete diagnostic data is revealed—for most students, this will be around 45 minutes per subject. After that, we suggest answering 10–15 diagnostic questions each week to help keep their levels and recommendations up to date.
