Mixed Experiences with Sono Bello

As someone who has explored the world of body contouring and laser liposuction, I understand the desire to achieve the body of your dreams. Reading through various reviews of Sono Bello, it's evident that the experiences are quite mixed. Some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the customer service, pricing, and results, highlighting issues with communication, pain levels, and post-operative care. On the other hand, there are a few positive reviews praising the professionalism and results achieved at certain locations. It's crucial to approach such procedures with caution and thorough research to ensure the best outcome for your body goals. Sound like an employee trying to minimalize the negative physical pain and financial scamming of almost 10% of patients (or should they be called 'marks'?).

Awesome

Wow sono bello is great. Immediate results. Doctors were great explained that I do not have control over my weight. It doesn't matter what I eat or don't eat i will still gain weight. It does not matter if I exercise. Walking *** steps per day NO THANK YOU. So I eat whatever I want bc I'm not gonna let fat control me. No. No. I'm in control of my body. I can eat whenever and whatever I want. That's why I get sonno bello and lipo and cool sculpting every 3 months to trim fat anywhere on my body. And cost please my hubby is more than willing to shell out about 25k a year to keep me looking sexy? Counting calories and exercising is for the unfortunate people. Wow the sacrifices I put myself through to stay looking good and confident Ohhh I would post some pics but I'm getting trim up next week so maybe next time?

Troy, Michigan location with Dr. Lakin

Dr. Lakin, Dr. Lakin Dr. Lakin!
Best plastic surgeon ever! A master at his profession and a real perfectionist!
I had the laser Lipo and also what Sono Bello calls an E/X, which is the removal of the skin on the lower abdomen. I am 72 hours out of surgery, My new shape looks amazing I feel wonderful. Best decision I ever made in my life!
I would also like to mention that Nicole the consultant was extremely informative and absolutely great at showing me what to expect and leading me through the process. I met with the nurse Amy for my preop appointment who gave me more instructions and explained them to me thoroughly what to do pre-and post surgery, she was great and a plethora of information! Then, nurse Nicole that was in the surgery room who was awesome and absolutely wonderful!
The doctor called to check up on me hours after I returned home, then I had to contact sono Bello to ask couple minor questions 40 hours later which I got through immediately at off hours and they connected me to the doctor!
The whole experience has been smooth and everyone has been there when you need them!
For more detailed review and pictures please go to the ReakSelf website and search Sono Bello Troy, Michigan and or Dr. Lakin, I will be posting in January 2021 and I will keep it updated for the full six month results! Thanks!

Just when i thought there was no hope

I've tried nearly everything to get rid of some stubborn fat and nothing worked for me. I really thought there was no more hope for me until i did my research for sonobello. There i received a free consultation. The place was clean, they had Covid guidelines in place and the girls at the front desk were very friendly and professional. I had my consultation with Alisa. Lady's she is the one to talk to. I was kind of embarrassed to tell her about some concerns but during my consultation after asking so many questions I realized she was very knowlegable about the procedures i wanted done and was very attentive about the concerns i had. She made me feel comfortable enough to share my medical concern. She didnt judge me nor did she have that answer for me but right there and then Alisa went to the medical team,(surgeons) told them about my concerns and came back with an answer. An answer i been longing to here for so long but too embarrassed to share. She explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions and thanks to her, the medical team and god willing I will have my fat removed on 5/24/21 with no worries. I met my surgeon Dr. Chmielewski the same day, she too explained step by step on what i'm to do before and after the procedure. She also assured me that she will do all she can to make sure that I am comfortable while under her care. Finally, i found a place where people really care about what they do. I'm nervous but excited. Thank you Sonobello..

I look great!

I'm 63 years old. I debated on having the surgery. I read the reviews (some not so good) But I went with my gut feeling. So, I contacted Sono Bello for a consultation. I had already done my homework and was ready for a sales pitch. I met Mary, she gave me alot of information about the procedures and ask me alot of questions about what I wanted. This is about sales too, but you have to know what you want and be realistic. I paid for surgery in full and selected my Dr. for my procedure Laser Lipo.

Dr. Skytta in the Cincinnati, OH Sono bello office is the best. She explained everything. She understood a woman's body and how you want to look. She asked me alot of questions. I had my upper abs, lower abs, inner thighs, flanks, bra roll, hips and waistline done. The nurses and staff were just great. The first procedure was for my abs, lower abs and bra roll. I had to wear the garment (faja) home. Make sure you follow the directions and drink a gallon of water a day and take it easy the first few days. You will have some swelling and some pain.

My 2nd procedure was 6 weeks later for my inner thighs, outer thighs, hips and flanks. Both procedures went great. I changed my eating habits and drunk a gallon of water a day. There will be some swelling. Extras: You do have to purchase a smaller garment (faja) and an ab board (the soft ones like a sponge) I went from an x-large to a small garment.
I'm not perfect but I couldn't be happier. I got my body back and my blood pressure went down. Overall, I have lost 32 pounds. 19 pounds after the procedures. I can see my results...

Amazing Customer Service and Follow Up!

Facts:
I am a 43 year old guy weighing in at 180 lbs with a bit of extra fat around my upper/ lower abs and love handles. I had my first procedure done in San Ramon, CA by Dr Zingaro on Feb 18th 2022 for a total cost of $7500. I will say that Dr. Zingaro and his staff were very professional and good at communication. The procedure itself was pretty smooth and mildly discomforting. It took about 4 hours and DR Z was very cool during surgery.

Result:
I have noticed a difference and will say that the procedure was partially successful. It needs a touch up and is just not quite right.

Issue:
Sono Bello and the Satisfaction Commitment. The factors that must be in place for a touch up are as follows: No weight gain from original surgery, within 1 year of original Surgery, and doctor has the final determination as to if he will do a follow up procedure. The last fact is where they get you. Ultimately if the doctor doesn't want to do touch up procedure,
He doesn't have to do the satisfaction commitment.

On September 8th, 2022 Dr Zingaro told me I was fine and did not need any extra work done. Well, Dr Zingaro did not know that I went to another Sono Bello clinic and was given a quote for $5500 that said I needed the same places done and they would do the procedures for that amount. I have surgery scheduled with a new doctor on September 12th and was willing to pay the new amount.

UPDATE: Sono Bello HQ found out I was having my surgery on September 12. Director of Patient experience Stephanie Baker reached out and made sure that my upcoming procedure with Dr Melnicek was addressed and included in my original Satisfaction Commitment! I was blown away at the response and amazing satisfaction commitment!

At my pre-operation visit with Dr M I was also given further guidance on ways to improve my outcome which I will be taking advantage of on my September 12th surgery.

The whole team could not have been more responsive or caring! Very happy with the experience for Satisfaction Commitment observance! Naomi Bruzual even reached out on Saturday to make sure I was happy and ready for Monday Surgery!

Thank you Sono Bello for restoring my faith in customer service and results.

I will post pictures once surgery is complete.

UPDATE: photos added below for before and after Sono Bello Lipo Suction. I have gotten a total body transformation and it all started with Sono Bello. I hope this helps for anyone thinking of this procedure.

Negligent and Dangerous: My Experience with Sono Bello's Tri-Sculpt Procedure

So, I had this procedure done at Sono Bello and let me tell you, it was not a good experience. I was looking to feel better about myself after working as a covid nurse for months, but instead I ended up with scars that are dark and indented. The phone consultation agent, Amy, told me there would only be 3 incisions, but on the day of the procedure, I found out there were actually 5 for the tri-sculpt. And to make matters worse, the surgeon didn't even make them even enough for the scars to look close to okay a year later.

But that's not all. The medical assistant tried to say I was an inch and a half shorter than I've been measured my entire adult life 30 minutes before the procedure. I'm assuming in an attempt to make me pay more for an increased BMI even though I had already pre-paid. And the sedative medications were given only 10 minutes before the procedure which is no where near enough time for them to work. I was told there would be an anesthesiologist on site but did not encounter one before, during or after the procedure. I know this because I was completely awake and aware the ENTIRE time.

From the lidocaine injections to the scalpel incisions, I felt every single cut and insertion. There were several times where I was in such severe pain that I actually tried to stop the surgeon from continuing and had to be reprimanded by her and my hands held down by, who I assume, was the intra-op nurse. It felt like a hot blade was being scraped inside of my entire abdomen over and over. The medications finally kicked in at the very end of the procedure, just in time to make it difficult to get off of the table and walk back into the holding room.

I finally fell asleep in the recliner and was woken up by a staff member telling me my ride had arrived. I was brought down in a wheel chair only to the front door. I was told to stand up and my family member then had to hold me up for half a NYC block to get me in the car. By the time we arrived home I was in such excruciating pain that I needed to be assisted into the house by 2 family members.

As the day continued, my family had to call the office for pain medication assistance. I never once heard from the surgeon or received any feedback on the procedure. I spent an entire week on strong pain medications and needing help to even make it to the bathroom. When taking my compression body suit off to shower I looked like a reanimated corpse for several months. It has been a year now and I still have numbness in several areas on my abdomen. The right side next to my navel is a noticeable lump about the size of my palm.

I contacted the nurse in the NYC office and was told I could have a revision. But honestly, I would not even consider going back there. This type of practice feels negligent and dangerous to me. My 5 scars are dark and indented and impossible to even conceal in a bathing suit. I look like I have two belly buttons. At one point a month after the procedure my 2 lower incisions had not yet fully closed and the right one appeared infected with pus and drainage. After contacting the office about this the nurse told me she would inform the doctor but no one got back to me about this. It's just not worth it.

My Disastrous Experience with Sono Bello: Inaccurate Info, Long Wait Times, and Unwelcomed Sarcasm from Doctor

My experience with Sono Bello has been a complete disaster. I started my journey with them in December of 2020, along with my friend. We both spoke with consultant Kristi, who seemed very knowledgeable and kind. However, as time went on, I realized that the consultants are just salespeople trying to make a sale. They will not be with you throughout the process, and they will give you inconsistent and inaccurate information.

One of the biggest issues I faced was the long wait times for any type of appointment. I would wait for hours, and sometimes even had to stand in the hallway in a gown calling for someone to help. The nurses and staff were not helpful either. They would give me vague answers and tell me that my concerns were just swelling or empty. It was frustrating and made me feel like they didn't care about my well-being.

The biggest red flag for me was when I met my doctor for my pre-op. He was talking super fast, a little aggressive with some unwelcomed sarcasm which made me super uncomfortable. He told me the exact opposite of what I was told by Kristi, and it cost me $8,000. He told me to not have such high expectations, and that my stomach would still poke out and my back rolls. I was so confused and felt like I had wasted six months going through this process.

I called Kristi and told her I didn't want to go through with the surgery. I wanted my money back. She told me I couldn't get my money back and that the doctor was just overly confident because he's such a good doctor. I trusted her again and went through with the surgery. However, I could tell something was said to the doctor, and he seemed a little annoyed. After the surgery, no one walked or wheeled me out. I got dressed on my own and walked out, literally holding onto the wall. My husband was waiting for me by the elevator, and I went home.

I received a call from the doctor, but other than that, I never got a call from the office or staff. You do not see a doctor until your six-month post-op, which is ridiculous. I noticed that my right side was bigger than my left, and I asked about it at each of my post-ops with the nurses. They all said it would go down, but it never did. My stomach is still big, and now it's oddly shaped.

In conclusion, I would not recommend Sono Bello to anyone. It's not worth the money, and you can go somewhere else that will charge less for more work. The consultants are just salespeople, and the nurses and staff are not helpful. Get a consultation from a doctor before you put any money down. And be careful, as there may be contract doctors with other motives.

Unhappy with Sono Bello Liposuction: Uneven Breasts, Belly, and Hips

I had a really bad experience with Sono Bello. I waited six months for a touch-up, hoping they would finish the job, but they are never going to touch me again. My left breast is noticeably larger than the other, the left side of my belly is far bigger than the right side, and my right hip is far larger than the left. I regret getting liposuction done at Sono Bello.

I was convinced by the patient advisor that they would remove all the fat I wanted gone. I had planned to only focus on the belly, but they stated they could tackle the waist, belly, and chest all in one setting, and that I had nothing to worry about. I questioned the advisor afterwards, asking if my expectations were in line with what they could provide. I had researched that the state of Florida only allows 4.5 liters to be removed per session. She assured me that I was well under 4.5 liters and that they would remove all the fat I wanted gone. I was skeptical, considering 4.5 liters is roughly 10 pounds, and I was certain I had 15 to 20 pounds to be removed, but I took her word for it. I had also asked if they would fix the problem if I was unhappy with the results of the surgery, and she assured me that they would.

I met with my Sono Bello doctor a few days before the surgery. However, he convinced me he would remove the fat I wanted gone without a problem. Also, they already had the $10,000 I had paid them, which they were incredibly aggressive about getting. On the day of the surgery, the nurse gave me a few Valium pills and then a half-hour later asked me to sign a bunch of documents. I have no idea what I signed, and just a faint memory of it. When the doctor had finished up with the procedure, I thanked him to let him know I was grateful. He said nothing, and it left me with a bad feeling, but maybe he didn't hear me, I don't know.

After five hours, they removed 2.3 liters of fat. However, when the doctor called later that evening to check in, he called from a blocked number. That only confirmed my suspicions about Sono Bello. Two months after the procedure, my swelling has reduced by 90-95%. I'm grateful that I'm much smaller and look much better, but I'm very unhappy that it is not what I wanted nor was I told I would get. I texted the patient advisor approximately four weeks ago to update her on my progress and told her about my results. She said that they would be able to do a touch-up in six months.

When I look in the mirror, I am both happy and very upset. I have been contemplating whether or not to start a complaint. It wasn't until my girlfriend made a comment about my chest being noticeably uneven that fired me up. A touch-up is completely unacceptable. They are never touching me again.

I should have focused on only one area. I ignored all the red flags and negative feedback, but I chose to move forward on their word that I would be happy with the results and that Sono Bello would do a good job.

I now have to spend untold amounts of money elsewhere to get things fixed. My next course of action is preparing a demand letter, and I also plan to list my complaint at the Better Business Bureau.

My Sono Bello Experience: From Fear to Flatter Tummy in 2 Months

I recently had a procedure done at Sono Bello and I am coming up on my 2 month post-op next week. I had my upper and lower abdomen done as well as my waist. I also had skin removal done. When I went for my consultation with Kelly, I was unsure of what to expect. All I knew was that I wanted a flatter tummy. I was scared to do regular liposuction because of all the horror stories I had heard.

After my surgery, I was actually bigger than when I walked in, but I kept wearing the garment because I was in real pain, especially when I stood up from laying down. I went back to work in 2 days, which I don't know why I did that, but the pain meds helped so much. Gradually, I saw the weight dripping from my tummy area. I was a little smaller at my 1st week appointment, but by the 30 day mark, I was really smaller and I wanted to know why my garment that was ordered at my 1st week post-op appointment wasn't as tight.

I brought in a good number of waist trainers I had from before my surgery, including a small one that I got from Amazon. I was told that one would be okay because it would not leave marks on my skin. During this experience, I've had my tummy to be hard around the lower part and was concerned. I called Sono Bello after hours and the doctor that did my procedure, Dr. Pratt, did call me back. He told me it was normal, so I stopped worrying.

From then to now, my tummy is tiny and flat. I'm still sore and know I'm still healing. I started working out a little. I only wear leggings and heels or a dress over my tummy along with my garment. I need a smaller one now. The incision where my skin was removed isn't really noticeable. I've been using the tape that I was given at my last appointment. I change it every 3 days.

I've worn belly tops and tops that tie around the waist with my back out, but after a few hours, my tummy would swell. So now I just wear my little faja while I'm healing. Whenever I used to get sad because I wanted to show my belly right away, I would look at the pic I took right before my surgery. That always made me feel better. Now when I look at the picture, I say wow, I remember that girl. I was trying my hardest to lose the weight or at least fake it until. I wore corsets and tied them so tight I hurt my esophagus.

I'm happy I paid for this procedure. It cost me $9,000 and I paid it in full. My tummy is still kinda swollen at the bottom but very smooth. I know I'm still healing because I can feel and see a difference every day. For the most part, I love how I look naked lol. I am considering getting my back fat done, which isn't really a lot, but I would like a perfect body ALMOST. I'm not conceited at all and know that a perfect body is just like whatever.

Anyone considering Sono Bello needs to do their research. Not all doctors are the same, of course. I was just really blessed to have had a great experience and excellent results. There's only one concern I have, and I'll see by the time I go for my appointment at the end of July. I say that because my body forms and forms. I am very pleased so far.

As far as weight, I am 5 feet 1 and I weighed 181 at my consultation. My appointment was 4 days later. I made it soon because I was so excited about it. But when I went for my 1 month appointment, I weighed 174. I am short but am thick. I only needed that tummy gone. Bye bye corsets. I see my weight is going to other places now, which is very, very niceeee. I am going to change my diet this week though. I just want to get the best out of my money and results after my surgery. Good luck to everyone. I tried to upload a picture, but I can't because the iPhone pics format.

Sonobello Review: Poor Bedside Manner, Infection, and Lack of Follow-Up

So, I had my consult with Sonobello at the Baltimore office, and it was pretty standard. I knew what to expect, so it was uneventful. However, I was able to schedule my surgery at the Tysons Corner office, which was great because they could fit me in a lot sooner. I went to Tysons for my pre-op, where they took my measurements and gave me my post-op instructions. My surgery was on April 13th, and I got upper abs, lower abs, waist, and Tri-sculpt Ex. I won't mention the surgeon's name out of respect, but I was not happy with their bedside manner. During the surgery, I was "uncomfortable" at best, but I told them to keep going. They responded with, "Nope. I'm not doing what you can't handle." I was somewhat shocked, but a little too loopy to come up with an intelligent response.

The post-op pain was worse than I expected, but I can handle it. I scheduled my post-op for the Baltimore office since it's closer to me, and driving was still pretty uncomfortable. However, I was told I'd be receiving my post-op garment at my one-week appointment, but that was not the case. I was measured for the garment at my one-week appointment, which was fine. At around post-op day 9, I developed an infection at my Sculpt-Ex incision site. I'm in the medical field, so I know what an infection looks like. I contacted the Baltimore office, where I had my post-op, and was told I had to contact the office where the surgery was performed. I called Tysons and left a message regarding the infection, which, by the way, ruptured when I was at the store. It was a lot! I got a call back 36 HOURS LATER (after calling 2 more times). They called me in three prescriptions and asked me to send pics, which I did. One of the prescriptions they called in is in the same drug class with a medication that previously put me into anaphylactic shock. Please know that this information IS in my medical chart. That's not something I'm likely to forget. Needless to say, I couldn't take THAT antibiotic. This happened on a weekend, so I couldn't call back with this info until that Monday, day 13. I got a return call on Tuesday, day 14. They sent a different medication to the pharmacy and asked for more pics, which I sent.

At the three-week point, I received a call from the nurse I've been in contact with (who is VERY nice) asking me how I was doing. It caught me off guard, lol. I sent another picture, and she did NOT like the way it looked. They upped my dosage on the antibiotic and told me I needed to be seen. She advised me to call the Baltimore office for an immediate appointment (which would have been last week) and another follow-up this week (which would have been this current week - 1 month post-op). She was sending all my info to that office with the pics and what have you. I called the Baltimore office and left a message. Three days later, I called again and was told that because I'm having a complication, they could not see me - that I had to go back to the location of my surgery. SERIOUSLY?!? They said they didn't have access to any of the pics I had sent and had no way of getting them. They literally gave me the impression that they wanted NOTHING to do with me there because I had an infection. So... I called Tysons and spoke to the same nurse who said, "I'll handle this." That was two days ago. At this point, I still have an open wound; it's still infected; I don't have a one-month post-op scheduled. AND... I can't even wear my compression garment because I'm supposed to wear loose clothing over the wound to let it "air out."

Basically, what this boils down to is that I'm out over $13,000 and have an infection to show for it. THANK YOU SONOBELLO.

Sono Bello Review: Frustrating Experience Trying to Cancel Operation

So, I was thinking about getting some work done on my upper arms, upper back, and neck/chin and decided to check out Sono Bello. I went in for a free consultation and was pretty excited about the whole thing. But then, not even 24 hours later, I started having second thoughts. I did some more research and decided to cancel the operation. I mean, there's a non-refundable fee of $2495, which is pretty steep, especially considering that each procedure only costs $1745. I don't even know where that extra $1695 goes! Is it for the free consultation? The $800 surgical booking fee? Who knows!

Anyway, I called to cancel and was told that the consultant would get back to me. While I was waiting, I did some more research on my doctor and found some pretty negative reviews. I mean, I can understand a doctor having a bad day and maybe snapping at a patient, but I can't stand an arrogant doctor who thinks they know better than the patient about what to do with their own body. Doctors are supposed to advise, not criticize and act like they're better than everyone else. So, I called again to cancel and was told to wait for the consultant to call me back. But she never did. I mean, I get that she's busy, but I'm a customer too, you know? She could have at least sent an email or something.

The next day, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called again. I spoke to the assistant this time, who told me that she wasn't allowed to cancel operations and that the consultant would call me back. But all I got was a call saying that the payment was in dispute at the credit card company and that the consultant would hopefully call me back. I mean, come on! I've been trying to cancel this operation for more than 24 hours and all I get is a hopeful call back?

Finally, I got a call back from the consultant and she tried to talk me out of cancelling. I caved and said that maybe I would just do the chin/neck. She said she would have to rework the quote and call me back later. I waited until the end of the day and called her again, but all I got was the assistant promising that the consultant would call me back tomorrow. I mean, the consultant said she would stay late, so I waited for her to call me back. When she didn't, I sent her an email cancelling the operation and explaining the breakdown of the non-refundable fee. She responded saying that she would talk to her manager and email me tomorrow. But she even misspelled my name, even though I signed it at the bottom of the email!

I'm really hoping that this gets resolved tomorrow. It's been a real headache trying to cancel this operation.

Sono Bello Review: Limited Procedures, Inadequate Results, and Salesperson Avoidance

I gotta say, I wish I had done more research before I went with Sono Bello. I had a tummy ex procedure done, but it turns out what I really needed was circumferential liposuction and a tummy tuck. Unfortunately, Sono Bello doesn't offer that kind of treatment. They basically just remove skin from the belly button down to the lower abdominals and do some liposuction in the area. They stitch the skin together, and while it's definitely an improvement over what I had before, it's not exactly what I was hoping for.

I've got some diastasis recti and my transverse abdominis is a bit distended from weight loss, so my stomach still sticks out a bit. I've been doing some exercises to try and decrease the distention, but I'm not sure how far I can really go with that. Sono Bello tries to make it sound like a positive thing that recovery from their tummy ex procedure is faster than a tummy tuck, but what they don't tell you is that the results just aren't the same. They claim to be doing a mini-tummy tuck in one of their YouTube videos, but that's just not true.

They also try to make it sound like a plus that you don't have to undergo anesthesia, but really it's just a cost-saving measure for them. They give you a high-dose tranquilizer instead of general anesthesia, and of course they use local anesthetic saline at the site of surgery. I wasn't awake or conscious for the procedure, but I did come in and out of consciousness because of the pain from the liposuction device. After the surgery, my wife was pretty shocked when she saw me because I was barely conscious and staggering around. It was pretty scary.

As time goes by and I see the back fat, the jagged scar, and the distended belly, I realize I didn't get the right treatment for what I needed. If I had gone to a regular full-service cosmetic surgery doctor, they would have been able to do the procedures that were necessary. It might have cost more and taken longer to recover, but I would have gotten the optimal result.

For whatever reason, there are only certain things that can be done at Sono Bello. If your case is a good match for what they can do, you might be more satisfied with the result. They have agreed to correct the dog ear on the side of my waist and straighten the jagged scar, but honestly, I'm afraid to have them work on me again. I'll probably just leave it and get a corrective procedure from a fully capable cosmetic surgery office when I can afford it in the future.

The salesperson I worked with was really friendly and knowledgeable, but don't be fooled - they're not medical professionals. When I had issues and complaints, the salesperson avoided my phone calls and it took a long time before we finally connected. They were much more responsive when they were trying to make the sale and complete the contract.

Finally, they like to talk about how many procedures they've done to make it sound like they're really experienced, but that doesn't necessarily reflect how experienced your surgeon is. Make sure you confirm the experience of your surgeon before you go through with the procedure.

I think my surgeon did the best they could within the limitations of the procedural regulations at Sono Bello. But why would a surgeon work there when they could work under a regular cosmetic practice or have their own practice? My guess is that they're trying to gain some experience with the procedures and techniques. Maybe the pay is good, but it's not their name that's on the line. If they had their own practice, they would do everything they could to protect their reputation.

So, do your research and see a lot of doctors before you make a decision. It's expensive surgery, and you want the best result and the right treatment for your needs. I hope this review is helpful to someone out there.

Terrible Experience with Sono Bello: Misshapen Body, Unprofessional Staff, and Medical Complications

I had a terrible experience with Sono Bello. They completely ruined my body and I am now so misshapen in my mid-section that I rarely leave the house. Let me tell you about my experience. I'm not sure if they still do it the same way, but when I went, they split my body into small sections. For example, the whole stomach was divided into three sections, and each side of the stomach was divided into two more sections. To get the whole area done, it would cost you $6000, if I remember correctly. I went for it, but it was a total waste of money.

My surgery was scheduled for noon, but I sat there in a gown with nothing underneath but panties until after 7 PM. I tried to leave several times, but there was always someone in the hall stopping me or talking me out of it. Once I was in the surgery room, my blood pressure was high from all the stress. The doctor said I needed to reschedule, but I told him I was not coming back. Next thing I knew, I was groggy and they were performing the procedure.

During the surgery, I could hear what was being said, but I couldn't move. Every time I responded using my voice, I would get groggy again instantly. It was like when I was becoming more aware, they gave me more medication. During that time, I remember saying it hurt one time. The doctor said if you think that hurts, wait until you come back and we do your back. My back was going to be done on another day, so I cancelled that on my weeks visit because of what the doctor said to me.

I was told the surgery would take all day, but they had me out of there in 45 minutes because the doctor's wife was outside and wanted to go home.

I told my husband that I had heard the nurse mention something about putting fat in my breasts, which I did not ask to have done. I voiced my concern on my week visit, and they told me no, they did not do that. But then I heard some laughter and whispering about it later, so I believe 100% they did. The fact is they did not do the lipo correctly on my stomach. My stomach is bigger at the top and slopes down. I cannot keep pants up because of this, and I never had a problem before the surgery. Another fact is that I went in with a C cup and left with a DD. They told me it was just swelling and it would go down. Years later, I am still a DD, and I truly believe they put fat in my breast without my permission. My breasts have never stopped hurting since the day I had the procedure.

I also developed a Sarcoma in my stomach. The pain was horrible. I went to the ER, and they called Sono Bello. They told the ER doctor they did not have the equipment or knowledge to deal with a sarcoma. I am sure this would be in my medical chart since the ER doctor called Sono Bello. I still to this day do not know if the Sarcoma is still there. I could not find any doctor to help me. I tried to get a refund from Sono Bello so I could get fixed right, and they refused unless I signed a legal document stating I would take all negative comments about them down. I was advised not to because if I missed one, Sono Bello could sue me for more than the refund. There was too high of a risk that I would miss one. I went through hell and back with this company.

I would not recommend them to anyone. I submitted all my correspondence with Sono Bello to the BBB, including the legal document they wanted me to sign. The BBB would not help, but please always check reviews and the BBB before making any decisions.

By the way, I was also not introduced to my doctor until the day of the surgery. Had I had time to investigate him, I would never have allowed him to do Lipo on me. He was from another state and would fly in to do these procedures. I looked for reviews on him after the surgery and found he was not a good doctor in my opinion. I am out the money, still to this day I have a messed up stomach, and I will never be happy again because I know I am stuck with what they did to me for life. Diet and exercise are the best way to go, not quick fixes.

Sonobello Review: My $11k Lipo Experience - A Warning to Others

I gotta say, I'm not one to complain, but I gotta get this off my chest. I shelled out almost $11k for some lipo on my upper and lower abs, waist, and AbEX to get rid of some extra skin. During the consult, they told me that everything I needed was included in the fee, except for a co-pay for meds if I had insurance. But that turned out to be a load of bull. On the day of the pre-op, they gave me a list of stuff to buy, like protein and wound healing supplements, gatorade, and foam pads. And they also told me I'd have to buy another compression garment once the swelling went down. All in all, I had to cough up an extra $520 for all that stuff.

Now, during the procedure, I wasn't awake, but I wasn't asleep either. I was kinda woozy. And let me tell you, I could feel that cannula going in and out as they did the lipo. And I could feel that needle piercing my skin as they stitched up the area where they removed the extra skin. I thought awake surgery was supposed to be like what Dr. Gruber does on that TLC show "Awake Surgery." But it was nowhere near as humane as that. They used pads to soak up the drainage around my abs instead of actual drainage tubes.

The night after the procedure, my husband got worried about how dirty the pads were, so he called the emergency number they gave us at discharge. But instead of a doctor or someone who knew what they were doing, some salesman tried to set him up for an initial consult. My husband told him twice that he needed to talk to a doctor or someone who knew what they were doing, and the guy finally took his info and said a doctor would call him back. But that never happened. The doctor did call me on the second day after the procedure to check up on me, but that wasn't in response to the emergency call my husband made. And that was the last time I heard from or saw an actual doctor.

The follow-ups are done by a medical assistant who doesn't really care about your pain or any other complaints you might have. They just want to take more pictures. When I was a week post-op, I asked to speak to the doctor about my pain, but they said he wasn't available. Even after taking the 15 Oxycodone they prescribed me, I was still in a lot of pain. And it was making me feel suicidal, so I had to go to the ER.

When the doctor called me the day after the procedure, I complained about not being able to stand up straight. And he told me that after I took a hot shower on the fourth day, I should be able to. But that didn't happen. I couldn't stand up straight for two and a half months after the procedure because it felt like my lower abs were being ripped open when I tried.

At my six-month follow-up, I complained that they didn't touch my upper abs (I measured before the procedure), even though I paid for it. And the medical assistant told me that they couldn't remove visceral fat. But the doctor saw my body before the procedure, saw what I paid for, and agreed to remove the fat I wanted gone.

Now, nine months post-op, I'm beyond dissatisfied. There's more visible fat on my left side than my right, making my sides look uneven. And I have an ugly hypertrophic scar on my upper bikini line, as well as one around my navel, which I'm pretty sure is because the doctor used my navel as an access point to do the lipo. When I complained about the scars, the medical assistant suggested I get Kenalog injections, which burn like hell and cost an extra $1,000. And they might not even work.

Even after paying $11k, I still don't feel comfortable wearing a halter top because of the scars, and I don't feel comfortable wearing fitted shirts because my abs are still bulky. And here's the kicker: they didn't even do any pre-op lab work.

Look, I'm sure there are some people out there who are happy with their results. Maybe they had less fat to begin with, or their surgeon was really good at body contouring and lipo. Or maybe they went back for touch-up work (which is covered by the satisfaction guarantee clause). But I urge everyone to get a consult from a local board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in body contouring and lipo before they say yes to Sonobello. I wish I had done that.

Excruciating Pain and Poor Care: My Experience with Sono Bello Liposuction and Tummy Tuck

I've been in the medical field for 19 years, working in endoscopy and surgery. I've had a few surgeries myself, including a breast reduction. However, I have never experienced such excruciating pain as I did during my recent procedure at Sono Bello. The pain was so intense that my body went into shock, and my blood pressure skyrocketed. When I lay down on the bed, the doctor immediately started poking me with a needle to numb the areas where he would make the incisions for liposuction. Then, I felt the rod being jammed under my skin and scraped back and forth. The doctor told me to hold still and breathe for the next four hours, which seemed like an eternity. My face was covered in tears and snot, and I asked for a tissue multiple times, but neither of the two assistants in the room checked on me. Finally, when the doctor had me roll onto my back, he asked the assistants to clean my face.

The pain didn't end there. I could feel the entire incision and sutures for the tummy tuck, and the doctor told me I couldn't numb the area anymore. He told me to hold still and keep breathing, but I was in agony. I couldn't believe that they only gave me two Percocets, five Xanax, a blood pressure medication, and two antibiotics for the amount of pain I was in. I've never had a blood pressure issue in my life, so I didn't understand why they gave me that medication.

After the procedure, the two assistants put a compression suit on me that was way too big and covered my entire body. They had to take it off and put on a smaller size, but it still didn't fit me properly. I have a long torso, and these full-body suits are made for people with average torsos. It didn't even cover all the areas where I had liposuction. I had to buy a huge ace wrap and make a belly support myself because the suit didn't feel tight enough, and I noticed more fluid drainage.

On my one-week follow-up, the nurse told me that I was in the wrong compression suit, but I was smart to make the stomach support like I did. She also asked how my thighs were healing, but we didn't do my thighs because the doctor said he couldn't take any more off my body in one session. She then told me that my tummy tuck area wasn't looking good, and the drainage was stuck, causing all the pressure, pain, redness, and heat I was feeling. She grabbed a huge syringe and a large 10-gauge needle and stuck it into my stomach to try to get more fluid out. I started crying instantly and explained to her what happened and how I felt. I told her I might have some PTSD from this whole experience. It's still hard for me to talk about without crying. She then left the room and brought back a half-body compression suit for long torsos and an abdominal binder for twice the compression because of what was happening with my incision area.

She walked me out to the front desk to make my one-month follow-up appointment, handed me a survey, and said, "Good luck with your PTSD," with a smirk. I'm only two weeks out, and I'm still in so much pain. I constantly want to sleep and feel like I'm full of golf balls. I've followed all the instructions to a tee, including lymphatic massage twice daily.

I was also supposed to have my bra rolls done, but that didn't happen either. I have extra sagging skin now on my back and over my belly button. There's no way I can even think about going back to have them touch any part of my body for more surgery. This surgery was done in Scottsdale, Arizona, and it cost $15,000.

We don't know much about how Sono Bello handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Sono Bello and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Doris from AL

I had a “Abex” procedure done in Brentwood TN. The surgery was done in June of 2023. I made complaints to the medical assistant on each of my follow ups. The surgeon was not there on the day of my final follow up, I had to schedule another appointment to talk to him. When I spoke to him he told me my out come was due to weight loss and he wasn’t going to do anything to fix it. I want a refund and I would like to be apart of the class action lawsuit

360 Smart Lipo

In October of 2021 I went in for a 360 smart lipo procedure at the Tysons Corner Location. The worst decision I ever made. I should have known by the way they pressured me to put a deposit and pay but I went ahead. Before the procedure I was given some pills. I don't recall any IV and then I was put on a surgery bed. Almost immediately I felt stabbing pain. I tried to protest and kept screaming but they went on. I felt the entire procedure and still have nightmares. NOT ONE single person told me to go for lymphatic massages or anything. I was told to wear my compression garments and gently rub my tummy.

For one month I had to keep going back every few days because fluid was building up in the pockets and they had to drain me.

Long story short almost 2 years later I have fibrosis and extreme tightness in my midsection and I am very lumpy.

Biggest regret of myu life.

Desired outcome: An explanation as to why I full post op practices were not disclosed and why I am still so lumpy and why it had to be so painful

I had an abex, liposuction to abdomen, upper back rolls, sides

I had surgery June/July 2022. The doctor had recommended certain areas that he thought would be better. I, trusting the doctor went with his recommendations. By my 3rd pre-procedure visit, the nurse realized that i had paid for my upper backs to be done yet it was not on paperwork to be done. She asked if i wanted the upper backs done also since I had paid for them, so I said yes. I feel i was not informed of all pertinent information. By the time i went to my 6 month follow up appt, there had not been much change. I have asked for my pictures to compare with no results. Sono bello doesn't even respond to my emails. I was suppose to have a lymphatic massage that was cancelled and never rescheduled. Originally i was told 1 year follow up but at 6 months, I was told i was done. I did say something on my last appointment about my abdomen not being flat and Dr told me that the fat was under the muscles. I was told that the fat in my back rolls fell down from up above my fat rolls. I feel like not enough information was given to me to make an informed decision on if i should have the surgery or not. No refund was offered to me when they realized i paid for my back rolls. I also found out after the fact, that there is a limit on how much fat cells they can remove at a time after the procedure. This info was never mentioned by sono bello. Im disappointed because my body doesn't look like I paid 15K for anything.

Desired outcome: I wound like my abdomen area reevaluated et liposuction and my back rolls to be done properly. If the doctor is not able to perform, then I think I should receive at least $5000 of my money back.

Laser lipo abdomen

I paid seven grand cash for laser Lipo supposed to be a non invasive surgery for my what I called jelly roll after 4 kiddos from 3 to 24 so I just wanted my front belly pocket flat. I told them from beginning not to touch my rear end they told me I’d be a perfect candidate because my skin was tight and that I would be awake during the procedure number one I...

Abex/lipo wa

ABEX / lazer/lipo was don for me on Feb 2022 by Dr. Collins. My end result is nothing like it should have been, Dr. Jones tried to do a revision after 9 months later and I am still badly scared. I did everything by the book and my results are no way what they should have at least come close to. I was burned from the lazer and that large scar will never go...

Non invasive lipo

My review is being blocked by Sono Bello. I just had my procedure Wednesday 07/19/2023 at around 830am. And it was the worst experience of my life. It felt like I was part of a saw movie. I have a very high tolerance for pain. I have a ton of tattoos, but that procedure hurt like hell. I did my research, and it was supposed to be painless. I don't know what...

I need my refund

I went to Sono Bello office in Scottsdale AZ for a liposuction and ABEX. I paid $13,640.00 for both. However at the pre-op appointment, the Doctor canceled the procedure, said I was not a good fit because of umbilical hernia. Sono Bello said my money would be refunded between 7 - 10 days, but I got no refund. I sent them a message and now they are telling me there is a backlog and the refund would take time. I find that unacceptable, and would want my refund immediately.

Disappointing Experience with Sono Bello: Unprofessionalism and Misshapen Abdomen

I gotta say, I was really disappointed with my experience at Sono Bello. I'm 50 years old and I had the tri-sculpt procedure done at their Charlotte office about a year and a half ago. I was so excited to finally get my "day of transformation" as the consultant called it, but that excitement quickly turned into frustration.

First of all, they never measured me for my post-surgery binder before the procedure. When I was coming out of surgery, the nurses asked me if the binder was too tight and I wasn't sure, so they just wrapped me up. A few days later, I noticed a weird "ridge" forming where the binder was wrapped around my skin. I called and texted the office, but all they told me to do was put on a light cotton tank. That didn't help at all. I even went to a massage therapist to try to get rid of the ridge, but they were worried it might be fluid that needed to be drained. I went back to Dr. Vega and it turned out that the ridge was permanent. They suggested I get an "ab board" to help shape my muscles, but that didn't work either.

At my final check-in, I told them again about my misshapen abdomen and they just told me that's how my body is. But I had a belly before the surgery and it didn't have ridges! Now I'm stuck with a disfigured abdomen and I'm thinking about suing.

But even aside from my terrible results, I was really put off by the unprofessionalism of the office. I had to wait for 20-30 minutes after arriving on time, and I could hear everything that was going on in the patient room. I heard Dr. Vega yelling down the hallway and another doctor talking about picking someone up at the bar the night before. And the exam rooms weren't very clean either - there was hair and debris all over the place.

Honestly, save yourself the trouble and find a local board-certified surgeon who doesn't have to advertise. Sono Bello's marketing might be compelling, but it's just a racket.

Sono Bello's Lack of Aftercare: A Tragic Mistake - My Painful Experience

I was really worried about the aftercare when I decided to go to Sono Bello for my surgery. Unfortunately, my fears came true. The doctor and the practice had a tragic death due to lack of aftercare, and I was given only two days of prescription medication after my surgery. I was promised two months of pain management, but that didn't happen. The pain was almost unbearable, and I cried the entire time. I have a huge back and a huge rub tattoo, so I'm not a wimp, but this was really tough.

I begged for more anxiety medication, but instead, the doctor gave me the option to continue after pumping me full of lidocaine on the first leg. At that point, he hadn't sucked any fat, but I believed they would take care of me. I cried the entire time. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the office staff and nurses were amazing. I actually liked Dr. Sobrino, and I believe it will look amazing, but he straight up lied to me when I expressed my concern in the pre-op.

When he called to check on me, he said that in the week since I was there, "they" changed the policies and would only provide aftercare for two days. This was a huge mistake, and I regret it fully. They give you one tiny 1mg Xanax and one tiny pain pill before they shove giant needles, lasers, and rods under your skin for hours and send you home with two days of pain management. They promised me months of aftercare, but that didn't happen.

A patient lost her life from lack of attention on their watch nine years ago. It was a tragedy, but I believed they would help me through the pain. Instead, I'm shaking with pain and anxiety and have two days of medicine before I have to ride an hour or more in the car (when I can't even sit down) to see the very doctor who promised me management and lost a patient after surgery.

Please think twice and do not fall for the hard sell. I wanted it for myself after a year of intense exercise left my body with little improvement, but their empty promises have given me heart palpitations and a panic attack. I feel intensely alone to suffer in silence while they cash a $7600 check. If you do it, take your own medication before because they will leave you hanging for the absolute most painful experience. If the nurses weren't so wonderful, I would have gone home with one fat leg and one skinny leg.
